About Me

My name is Irina. I'm a psychologist who helps people better understand themselves, their reactions, and their relationships with others. I work with anxiety, emotional states, inner conflicts, and life crises. My approach is individual: I don't offer ready-made answers — I help you find your own. I practice gestalt therapy, which allows us to work with what you're experiencing here and now — without getting lost in endless analysis of the past.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first meeting is primarily about getting to know each other. There's no need to prepare specially: allow yourself to relax and don't set internal limits. You can start with any topic. Emotions are often intense during the first session — there's no need to hold them back. Sometimes it's hard to formulate one specific problem right away: thoughts may feel tangled, and experiences may overlap. As we work together, I'll help you gradually clarify what brings you here.

There's a common belief that one consultation can completely transform your life, but that's a myth. Our psyche has been shaped over years by family, experience, and environment. Changing established patterns of thinking and behavior takes time. In a safe therapeutic space — one that is built gradually — openness becomes possible, along with access to the deeper causes of difficulties.

Most often, sessions happen once a week. After active therapy is complete, supportive sessions every two weeks or once a month are possible — as a form of caring for your mental health. An individual consultation or therapy session lasts 50 minutes; couples sessions last 80 minutes. More details about formats and duration are available upon request.

Our work is primarily based on dialogue. Through conversation, the session becomes a shared exploration of your inner world. You share your experiences and difficulties, and I don't just listen — I clarify, reflect, and ask questions, sometimes uncomfortable ones. This dialogue helps you see yourself more clearly and understand how you build relationships with others. Throughout the process, it's important to talk about everything — what works for you and what causes discomfort. Confidentiality is guaranteed.

Gradually, your behavior and way of responding begin to change. You start applying skills gained in therapy to everyday life, becoming more mindful and attentive toward yourself and others. You develop a greater ability to hear yourself, understand the motives behind your actions, and notice automatic thoughts and reactions. You become more aware of your desires and better able to distinguish your own feelings.

Working with me involves dialogue. Throughout the process, I keep focus on your situation, form initial hypotheses, and test them through questions. Every question is aimed at expanding awareness of what is happening within you and around you. This is how so-called "blind spots" are revealed — things that previously went unnoticed. Often, that's enough for new ways of acting and changes in life to emerge.

I accept adult clients only at their own request. Reaching out independently shows inner readiness for work and is an important first step toward change. Psychotherapy is a process that is only possible with voluntary participation. It's impossible to work with the wish that "someone else should change" if that person isn't ready themselves.
